Washington State Patrol troopers are searching for witnesses to a drive-by shooting that occurred on northbound I-5 in King County early Monday morning.

WSP said at around 12:10 a.m., it received a 911 call from a person reporting he was shot at while approaching the onramp from Columbia to northbound I-5. The caller said they were not injured and would be waiting off the James St. exit for contact.When troopers met up with the victim, they were able to verify the vehicle was struck by gunfire in several places and also recovered evidence from the vehicle, WSP said.
Troopers said the only other vehicle in the area was an unknown vehicle with an unknown driver entering the other ramp to southbound I-5.
