PepsiCo Inc. is nearing a deal to buy Rockstar Energy Beverages, according to people familiar with the matter, in a move that would expand the beverage giant’s presence in the fast-growing energy-drink category.
PepsiCo is to pay $3.85 billion for Rockstar under the deal being discussed, which could be announced as soon as Wednesday, assuming the talks don’t fall apart, the people said.
