One person was killed and another was injured Wednesday in a wrong-way crash on southbound Interstate 805 near the San Ysidro Port of Entry, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
California Highway Patrol said the crash near East San Ysidro Boulevard happened before 11:55 a.m. when a white car driven by a 29-year-old San Diegan was driving the wrong-way in southbound lanes of traffic. The vehicle crashed with a blue van and killed the driver, CHP said. Lanes were closed as CHP investigated the crash. A SigAlert was issued and lanes were still closed as of 2 p.m.Further details were unavailable.
