Starting season with Double-A San Antonio, Padres reliever Woo-Suk Go has struck out eight against zero walks through first five innigns
Woo-Suk Go logged the first save of his State-side career Sunday, striking out a batter in a scoreless ninth in Double-A San Antonio’s 2-1 win over visiting Northwest Arkansas. The 25-year-old Go signed a big-league deal out of South Korea over the offseason, but he was slow getting going in spring training and was optioned to the Texas League while the Padres were still in South Korea for the Seoul Series.
Sacramento 4, Chihuahuas 0: LHP Daniel Camarena allowed a run in three innings after RHP Nolan Watson exited after allowing a run in one inning. RHP Alek Jacob allowed two runs in two innings. LF Graham Pauley went 2-for-4 and 2B Clay Dungan went 1-for-3 with a walk. TinCaps 8, Lake County 7: OF Tyler Robertson went 2-for-4 with his first homer and two RBIs. LF Kai Murphy went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. 3B Devin Ortiz drove in two runs on three hits and SS Nik McClaughry went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored. RHP Braden Nett allowed four runs in 1 ⅓ innings in his 2024 debut. Notable: Low Single-A Lake Elsinore’s doubleheader in Modesto was rained out. … The system is off on Monday.
