A woman fleeing a vicious attack by her boyfriend survived a 30-foot fall Monday when she jumped out of a third floor apartment in Oakland, police said.
OAKLAND — A woman survived an estimated 30-foot fall Monday morning after she leapt from a third-floor apartment near Lake Merritt to escape a violent attack by her boyfriend, authorities said.
The 35-year-old boyfriend was later arrested and some guns were recovered from a bag he had, authorities said. Authorities said the man and woman are in a relationship and have a child together. The child was not at the apartment at the time.Police said the man threatened to kill the woman and began choking and beating her.
