A fifth woman came forward Thursday against former Cheer Athletics coach Jason McCartney, alleging that he sexually abused her when she was a child and he was a teenager.
In a written statement, Methvin said she hopes that her lawsuit will inspire other victims to come forward and that McCartney “is brought to justice along with every adult who knew about it and failed to act on our behalf.” Attorney Ed Huddleston, who is representing Jason McCartney in the other lawsuits, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It was unclear whether Bonnie McCartney had an attorney, and attempts to reach her were unsuccessful.
The lawsuit says his behavior escalated from that incident, and that McCartney would touch Methvin inappropriately and have her touch him. The abuse became more frequent as McCartney got older, the lawsuit says.
