The Wolfpack hired former Georgia Tech cornerback Step Durham IV on Wednesday. Durham, who remains one of the top recruits in Atlantic Coast High School program history, signed with the Yellow Jackets in 2014 and played four seasons there.

Durham played in 29 career games for Georgia Tech, recording 76 total tackles, recovering two fumbles and picking off a pass. He spent time with the Chiefs following being signed as an undrafted free agent.

“I’m very excited,” Durham said. “I’m ready to turn this program around and get the city talking about Wolfson in a positive light.” Durham inherits a Wolfson program that remains in rebuild mode and enters a rugged new district in the newly formed Metro division. The Wolfpack will play in 2-2A with Bishop Kenny, powerhouse Bolles and Episcopal.

That mark was its best since 2004 when it won seven games and reached the playoffs.

The change at Wolfson continues a busy cycle in the Gateway Conference. Since the regular season ended, positions at Mandarin, Ribault, Riverside, Wolfson and Westside
