A woman saw a man tossing a toddler into bushes on Octavia Drive off Navco Road, then drive away with the child’s mother.
) - “All I heard was like a swoosh in the bushes, and I heard another swoosh, and the baby crying,” said the witness when she heard the child thrown, then a bag thrown after.
This happened near the child’s grandmother’s house. The witness said she alerted the grandmother and called police. The grandmother said she had no idea the boy was being dropped off.Investigators said the mother was driving the vehicle. “I didn’t even see her when she pulled off,” said the witness. “They pulled off real fast. I didn’t get a glance at her, but he looked at me and smirked.”
Family on scene said the man who tossed the child is the mother’s boyfriend, not the father of the child.Mobile Police said as of Thursday night, no one is facing criminal charges.
