MANILA, Philippines – Following the resignation of Jose Faustino Jr., the officer-in-charge of the Department of National Defense , several other senior defense officials were expected to tender courtesy resignations toIn a press briefing, DND Spokesperson Arsenio Andolong said the officials included “about seven to nine” individuals holding the rank of undersecretary or assistant secretary. He did not name them.
The move would be “normal,” Andolong added, since the officials had been coterminous with Faustino, who quit as the country’s top defense official last Friday, January 6. “When a new SND comes in, and not just here in the DND but when a new principal comes in, it’s customary and part of procedure that coterminous officials also appointed by the President tender their resignations,” Andolong said in Filipino.
Holding the rank of undersecretary in the DND are Franco Nemesio Gacal , Ignacio Madriaga , and Angelito de Leon .Andolong said four assistant secretaries are among those who would give notice to Galvez. On the DND’s website, seven hold the title, including Pablo Lorenzo , Henry Robinson Jr. , Antonio Bautista , Gavin Edjawan , Joselito Ramos , Emmanuel Ramos , and Erik Dy .DND, AFP morale
