Joseph needed to back up his words he wasn’t going to cause more trouble away from the field and create problems for opponents on it. Joseph’s rookie season was a mess. His commitment and focus was questioned by team officials. When he did participate on the field, he struggled on defense.Change was needed immediately in Year 2. Joseph had to convince the leadership council, front office and coaches he would take football seriously.
Joseph, however, wanted to play more on defense. He was behind cornerback Anthony Brown, who was a better player. This season, Joseph played just 14 snaps on defense before Brown suffered a concussion at Green Bay on Nov. 13. Joseph picked up 41.and Joseph moved up the depth chart. He played 29 snaps and now he’s going to receive a significant opportunity against the Texans to show the Cowboys why he’s a valued second-round pick.
