The Box was created by Edward Nygma while he was still working at Wayne Enterprises, and while it seemed harmless, fronting as 3D TV equipment, the Box also allowed Nygma to absorb the user’s brain waves into his own brain, making him smarter while also allowing him to read their minds. After being fired from Wayne Enterprises, Nygma became The Riddler and joined forces with Two-Face so he could develop more Boxes, in return for his help in finding out Batman’s identity.
