Two incidents prompted the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration to open up their probe
Federal regulators on Tuesday opened an investigation into Cruise’s autonomous vehicles following a string of injury crashes in The City.
The new safety probe comes just two months after the California DMV forced Cruise to reduce its fleet of cars to 50 during the day and 150 at night following a string of collisions in The City. Hannah Lindow, a Cruise spokesperson said, “Cruise’s safety record over 5 million miles continues to outperform comparable human drivers at a time when pedestrian injuries and deaths are at an all-time high.”
