When the Mavs’ defense sagged to give Gafford and Dereck Lively II help against Zubac, the offense opened up for the rest of the Clippers.
Unfortunately, Sunday was the bad ol’ days all over again. In that miserable 30-point first half, the Mavs scored eight points in the paint.Asked why they couldn’t assert themselves in the first half, Kidd said they simply didn’t match Los Angeles’ mettle.
