November is National Diabetes Awareness Month , and this week San Antonio 's Frost Tower will glow blue to spread awareness about type one diabetes — a condition in which the pancreas doesn't produce enough insulin, or the body's immune system destroys insulin-producing cells, leading to high blood sugar levels and other health complications. The event is brought to San Antonio by Breakthrough T1D Southern Texas Chapter , a global nonprofit working to find a cure for type one diabetes.
