Former NFL Rookie of the Year Robert Griffin III was on ESPN’s “Get Up,” and said the Cowboys erred in getting rid of Ezekiel Elliott
“It felt like two or three years, everyone at this network [ESPN] and around the world was talking about Zeke being washed. But the bottom line is, the Dallas Cowboys miss Zeke right now,” said Griffin.
On Sunday, the Cowboys scored one touchdown on five possessions in the red zone with one interception and a turnover on downs. Griffin pointed out that Elliott was 17/21 on short-yardage conversions on third and fourth down last season with the Cowboys and said the team misses Elliott’s production in the red zone.
“In the red zone When you have a hammer like Ezekiel Elliott it can take the pressure off the quarterback,” said Griffin. Griffin finished the segment by suggesting that the Cowboys could replace Elliott by trading for Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts.
