And, helped by Brown’s immature taunting penalty after the catch, the Commanders drove 64 yards in 10 plays and tied the game on Sam Howell’s 5-yard TD pass to wide receiver Jahan Dotson with no time remaining.
As it turned out, Elliott kicked a 54-yarder to win the game in overtime, 34-31, as the Eagles survived to stay unbeaten at 4-0. The TD pass came on a second-and-four at the Commanders’ 28-yard line. If the Eagles had kept grinding out yardage, they likely would’ve forced the Commanders to burn their last timeout before attempting what, for Elliott, would have been a chip-shot field goal.
