It was 152 to 55, but that’s far short than the 217 votes he will need to become the next House Speaker. And according to sources reported by CBS News, there are about 10 to 20 Republican holdouts that just aren’t gonna vote for Jordan. And it’s not clear that he’s ever gonna change their mind. Tuesday, they expect to have the first of perhaps many votes on the House floor. So we’ll see how this goes.

That messaging ignores that Governor DeWine signed the heartbeat bill in January 2019, banning abortion when a fetal heartbeatAnd that’s true, but only for the moment.
this move in the states to put it into constitutions and now the heartbeat bill is an overreach. If we had a reasonable abortion law in Ohio maybe this constitutional amendment wouldn’t be on the ballot but the far right nut jobs in the legislature who’ve been elected because of gerrymandering went too far and this is the result the people are taking control.It was interesting to me in the story that some on the vote no side disagree with this messaging around the campaign.
So Ashley Brown, we also talked to her. She’s a former Pucco commissioner. And she says that most sub-meter companies don’t add any value. It’s just a way to scrape money right off the top.
