Jean is excited to find two VHS tapes of a movie titled Love On Loan, which are identical except for one key difference: one features an unidentified movie star, and the other features Allison Hargreeves, with the script noting that it’s Allison from season 1. Although the script doesn’t offer physical descriptions of Jean and Gene, they sound a lot like The Commission’s agents.
Jean and Gene are aware of a multiverse in The Umbrella Academy as hinted by their reaction to the VHS tapes, but it’s unknown how much they know about it and if they have any power or object in their possession that allows them to travel through space and time. Still, their awareness of it could be of help to the Hargreeves to either undo Reginald’s timeline or return to one where their presence won’t cause yet another apocalypse.
