The White Sox and Andrew Vaughn feel a sense of relief after X-rays on Vaughn’s hand came back negative following a hit by pitch vs. the Angels.
Vaughn got X-rays after Friday’s game and was concerned the injury was worse.
“I've seen a lot of guys take 95 to the hand, and it doesn't end really well,” he said. I guess I got pretty lucky.La Russa said the Sox hope Vaughn’s hand is OK by Sunday. The 24-year-old has been one of the team's top hitters in the month of April, batting .283/.367/.566 with four home runs and 12 RBIs in 16 games.
He went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs Wednesday to help the White Sox snap an eight-game losing streak.
