The White House is asking Congress for $2.5B to respond to the coronavirus that has killed more than 2,600 people in mainland China, but Speaker Pelosi called the request inadequate.

"We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!" Trump tweeted.over coronavirus fears. It was the worst day in two years for the blue-chip index.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that there have been two cases of person-to-person transmission in the U.S., and that the virus can be spread via respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The CDC says on its website that the virus is not currently spreading in the U.S.
