When Super Bowl LVII is over on Sunday night, Auburn will have at least its 19th winner in the NFL’s big game. It's one of 14 college programs with former football players on both Super Bowl teams. Here's whose conferences can claim bragging rights:
The SEC’s programs again have produced the most players on the active rosters of the Super Bowl participants with 22 – six more than the Big Ten.
The Super Bowl rosters are laid on the foundation provided by college football’s Power 5 conferences, which have provided 69 of the players. For last season’s big game, that number was 84, though, and with 11 alumni involved, the AAC has as many as the ACC and the Big 12, even though Big 12 member Oklahoma has produced more Super Bowl players than any other program this season with six.
And 10 of the players preparing for Super Bowl LVII played below the NCAA FBS level in college – twice the number from last year’s NFL championship game.
