Carlos Correa and Aaron Judge both moved into the top five of biggest contracts in baseball history with their megadeals signed this offseason.
. It's the fourth-largest contract in baseball history and tied for the second-longest behind only the Padres' Fernando Tatis Jr.
Correa, who made $35.1 million last season with the Twins, will average about $26.9 million annually in his new deal which won't end until he's 41 years old. These long-term contracts that pay extravagantly deep into a player's career are becoming commonplace, but it didn't used to be that way. Before Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez signed 10-year deals in 2001, there had only been three such contracts in baseball history. Since then, there's been 17 players get at least 10-year contracts, including four this offseason alone.
