Gatsby partners Dr. Anoush Ahmed and Luis Rangel opened their casual neighborhood restaurant at the end of December. Serving “elevated comfort food,” the grill makes its home at the former Acadian Coast space on Navigation in Second Ward.The 7,000 square-foot restaurant, featuring a large patio and bar, has been redesigned with dark wood accents, deep green walls, lounge seating, and fire pits. Garage-style glass windows separate the interior from the patio.
Appetizers: fried calamari, deviled eggs, meatballs, spinach and artichoke dip, crab and avocado queso, tuna poke, and chicken wings, as well as soups and salads. Entrees include burgers, crab cake sandwich, tacos, pasta dishes, steaks, tuna, salmon, redfish, chicken, and chicken-fried steak.A full bar serves 18 beers on tap, cocktails, margaritas, house-batched sangria, and frozen drinks including Gatsby’s Dreamsicle.
