Country singer Brayden King, who successfully auditioned for American Idol, is appearing Saturday night at Regina's Rail Yard Saloon.
King was one of 160 performers invited to Los Angeles out of around 120,000 applicants. He ended up making the cut in each of the first two rounds, landing in the top 55.
“I left happy, knowing I gave it my all,” recalled King. “I went into the room with the judges and they told me they really liked what I did. They loved my energy and personality and my voice. They basically said it’s stiff competition and I wasn’t going to be making it to the top 24. Honestly, it wasn’t too much of a hit because I was like, ‘I made it further than I ever planned.’ I was just honoured to be there and thankful for the experience.
King rode that momentum into his current Western Canadian tour, which stops Saturday at Regina’s Rail Yard Saloon after a performance tonight in Weyburn.
