Westlake police arrested a man Monday they say is accused of touching a teen inappropriately while praying over her.
Police say a call from a local Catholic priest came in reporting that a man claiming to be a retired priest visiting and performing spiritual ceremonies to the nearby Spanish-speaking population had been accused in the past of sexual misconduct with kids.
the 76-year-old man had visited a 15-year-old cancer patient at her home October 10th to bless her, officers say. Witnesses tell police Luis Jesus Barajas touched the juvenile inappropriately during the blessing, using blankets and clothing to hide some of his actions, police say.Investigators say they learned that Barajas had supposedly been ordained a Catholic Priest in 1982.
He had been accused of sexual misconduct involving juveniles in the Diocese of Harrisburg, PA around 1989 and was sent back to Columbia.The man had evidently been in Lorain County for several months and stayed with local families, police say.
