An unusually cold storm spread into Northern California on Tuesday and is expected to impact the Sierra Nevada and Tahoe Basin through Saturday.
For those planning drive to and from the mountains this week, the weather service warned,"There will be travel difficulties."
The storm made itself known in the northern Sierra Nevada and Tahoe Basin with strong winds and a"burst of snow" Tuesday. The most significant snowfall is expected Wednesday night through Friday morning. "Honestly, I think the difficult travel conditions will continue through Friday afternoon," Chandler-Cooley said."The travel impacts could continue throughout the day on Friday."
