This dish drying rack is, dare we say, chic?
I was in the middle of my quest to find a solution, but luckily Anna had already done the heavy lifting for me: She tested just about every air-drying option out there. The search started when Anna moved into her new apartment last fall. She was able to count herself as one of the few fortunate New Yorkers with a dishwasher ., and I wanted something that I could put away easily to clear counter space when needed.
So, to test out the best options available, she purchased a folding dish rack, two types of silicone drying mats, and two different microfiber drying mats. She didn’t like any of them. It was a bit of a Goldilocks situation: The folding rack was too wide for her narrow counter. One of the silicone mats was intended to roll out over the sink...but it turned out Anna hated having her sink covered by a bunch of drying dishes. The other silicone option was too long for her counter space.
