Super Bowl weekend has arrived, and the Washington State Patrol has announced that it will have extra patrols out looking for impaired drivers on Sunday.— a 36-foot motorhome that serves as a “full service police station on wheels,” according to WSP — will be used to help process suspected impaired drivers who are arrested. By staffing the MIDU, local and county agencies will be freed up to spend more time looking for suspected impaired drivers, WSP said.

WSP provided statistics showing that the number of impaired drivers arrested by troopers in King County on Super Bowl Sunday has increased over the past three years:
