Breeze Airways, a low-cost carrier that launched last year, has new routes from Provo coming on line.
Neeleman said his company is focusing on flying out of Provo because Salt Lake City is already well served, and it was an opportunity to tap another market. Breeze Airways is adding service from Provo to five cities, including San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas., where it employs about 70 people. By expanding operations to the Provo airport, it plans to hire another 200 employees.
Breeze Airways began service a year ago, flying mostly between airports in the eastern and southeastern United States. It will be the second commercial airline to fly out of Provo, after Las Vegas-basedService to San Francisco will begin Aug. 4 with one-way fares starting at $39. One-stop trips to San Bernardino will begin the same day with fares starting at $49.
Flights to Las Vegas begin Oct. 5 with tickets starting at $29. Trips to New York will begin the same day with tickets starting at $99.
