Thousands of mourners are expected to flood Midtown Thursday — first-responders and civilians alike — for the wake of slain cop Jason Rivera at the historic Manhattan church.
NYPD Police Officer Jason Rivera is getting a hero’s farewell at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
The body of the 22-year-old cop — which arrived at the historic church at about 11:30 a.m. — will lie at the foot ofwith his photo alongside an NYPD flag made of flowers. It will be the first of two police funerals at St. Pat’s.“It’s heartbreaking,” Queens resident Kathy Geraghty said outside the cathedral Thursday morning, hours before the 1 p.m. wake.
