Wagner Group mercenary boss Yevgeny Prigozhin is in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko told reporters on Thursday.
On June 27, Lukashenko apparently confirmed that Prigozhin had arrived in Belarus per the terms of a deal with the Kremlin that saw him avoid prosecution for leading Wagner in an aborted mutiny.

Lukashenko said Thursday that Prigozhin was in St. Petersburg, adding that "he is not in the territory of Belarus" and that he is "free," having spoken to the Wagner chief on the phone. Lukashenko did not confirm whether Prigozhin had actually been in Belarus since the coup, and his whereabouts have been somewhat of a mystery.
