Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte on Wednesday lamented the Philippines’ poor performance based on the 2022 Programme for International Student Assessment results, saying that a collective effort must be made to address such a problem. DepEd Undersecretary for Curriculum and Teaching Gina Gonong said that the Philippines will still participate in the next PISA that will be conducted in 2025, but the DepEd is not expecting so much as the new K-10 curriculum is not yet fully implemented by then. The Philippines may also start being at par with other Southeast Asian countries by 2029 onwards, she admitted.
