He said Virginia will “elect another Republican outside businessman.”
Gov. Glenn Youngkin said Virginia will “elect another Republican outside businessman” in his speech at the Republican National Conference Monday night — a reference to his own gubernatorial win three years ago. “After 12 years of only electing Democrats statewide, in November 2021, Virginians elected a Republican outside businessman as their 74th governor,” Youngkin, a former businessperson, said.
' The presidential race started with Trump attacking Youngkin, saying there was no way the Virginia governor would have won without his support and that Youngkin’s name “sounds Chinese.” But on Monday night, Youngkin praised the president for his economic policies compared to the current administrations.
