A coalition of news organizations has sued the Department of Public Safety, alleging the agency is illegally withheld body camera footage, 911 calls and other records of law enforcement's response to the Uvalde shooting, TexasTribune reports.

Under state law, records are presumed public unless a government body cites a specific exemption under the Public Information Act that allows information to be withheld.
