Utah's new hockey franchise made its debut Monday night at the Delta Center with its first pre-season game , marking a significant milestone for a team that didn't exist just six months ago. Fans were buzzing with excitement as they watched the historic first game on Monday, September 23, 2024.
“Honestly, I was the last one to believe it was happening, I was telling everybody at work, ‘No, we’ll never get a team, we’ll never get a team,’ and then like two weeks later, hey, we got a team!” Richard Coulson laughed as he was one of the first fans through the door Monday night.Utah Hockey Club knows it finally has a home in Salt Lake CityEven fans of Monday’s opponents, the Los Angeles Kings, said they’re impressed with Utah’s growth in hockey.
“It’s a new beginning, it’s a new franchise, all of our players are excited to build from the ground up for what NHL hockey means in Utah” Armstrong said.
