In a statement released Friday, the Board stated it "heard and thoughtfully considered" all the information presented to them, and came to a decision based on a majority vote. "... The Board does not find sufficient cause to commute Mr. Honie’s death sentence," according to the statement. "The Board hereby denies Mr. Honie’s Commutation Petition and makes no change to the sentence imposed ...""The vote tally is not public," the Board said in a statement to KUTV 2News. "All decisions require a majority vote. We had a majority.
"We continue to move forward with the plan to carry out our statutory obligation on Aug. 8," he said.
