A $300 million deal for Scooter Braun has left Taylor Swift — and the internet — rattled, but it’s not crystal clear who’s in the wrong
Photo: Getty Images Well folks, it’s that time of year again! Taylor Swift is at the center of some very star-studded drama. There are so many threads here, and they’re all tangled up in the issue of artists’ rights — something Swift has been publicly passionate about in the past. Borchetta also claims that Swift was offered a deal in which she could possibly own her music: “100% of all Taylor Swift assets were to be transferred to her immediately upon signing the new agreement. We were working together on a new type of deal for our new streaming world that was not necessarily tied to ‘albums’ but more of a length of time … Taylor had every chance in the world to own not just her master recordings, but every video, photograph, everything associated to her career.
