'Unsuspecting citizens' in Seguin have reported being shot by Orbeez guns

After multiple incidents involving water pallet guns in recent months, the Seguin Police Department issued a warning to residents Wednesday in a Facebook post.department wroteSeguin police said it has received multiple 911 calls from"unsuspecting citizens who were shot with the gel balls" from an Orbeez gun, a"realistic-looking recreational gun that shoot gel balls that range from 6 to 8 mm in size." There have not been reports of serious injuries.
Sarah Wallace, community engagement officer for Seguin PD, said the Facebook post was written to educate and inform the community about using toy guns as pranks. "Some callers reported their cars were shot at and hit while they were driving down the road," Wallace wrote in a Facebook post."Sometimes, the gel balls have been frozen to make them hit harder and cause pain. This is not ok. It's dangerous, and it's also a crime."
Wallace said the pellets from the gun can cause large welts on people and can potentially go through a person's skin or a car's windshield if they are frozen.
