University of Texas football position analysis: Wide receivers
After playing through a broken hand during the 2022 season, a healthy Xavier Worthy is back to lead Texas' wide receiver corps.Third in a position-by-position series looking at the 2023 Texas Longhorns after spring workouts.: Jaden Alexis, redshirt sophomore; Casey Cain, redshirt sophomore; Isaiah Neyor, senior; Jordan Whittington, redshirt senior; Xavier Worthy, junior: Johntay Cook II , Adonai Mitchell , DeAndre Moore Jr. , Ryan Niblett .
Whittington played a full season for the first time in 2022 and set career highs in receptions and receiving yards . Standing 6-foot-4 with a mammoth catch radius and elite tools, Mitchell has thrived on the biggest stage. In four career College Football Playoff games, he’s recorded eight catches for 149 yards and four touchdowns.with a stupendous one-handed touchdown grab, one of his six catches for 58 yards on the day. After missing nine games due to an ankle injury last season, he looks ready to take on a sizeable role for Texas this year.
