United will automatically rebook customers in cases of a travel disruption, but now customers looking to change flights on their own can simply use the updated app — instead of going through customer service, Chief Customer Officer Linda Jojo said in a Thursday statement. Jojo said that the in-app option will not affect the employment of customer service agents and the airline isIn addition to the rebooking option, the app now allows passengers to track their bags from where they were checked in to their final destination.
The changes come during a busy summer travel season. George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P. Hobby Airport in passenger traffic this summer compared with last summer, according to the Houston Airport System. The number of passengers this summer will exceed that of summer 2019, before the pandemic, the agency said.
