Photos from New York City showed the smoke-covered skies tinting the skyline orange on Tuesday morning.Wildfire smoke in the Northeast from the Canadian province of Alberta during the past few weeks was mainly aloft and didn't affect air quality much, but this situation is different since some of the smoke is traveling near the Earth's surface. The closer the smoke is to the ground the more of an impact it will have on air quality.
