Ukrainian movie ‘The Guide’ playing in San Antonio theaters this weekend, proceeds to benefit Ukrainian relief efforts
Proceeds from ticket sales will go to organizations providing humanitarian relief to Ukraine, including the International Red Cross and the International Organization for Migration. Human & Civil Rights Organizations of America, which specializes in workplace fundraising for human rights causes, will manage the funds.
“The Guide” is set between the world wars, when millions of Ukrainians died of hunger because of a famine caused at least in part by Soviet government policies. It tells the story of a boy named Peter who turns to an old folk musician for help after his father, an American engineer, is killed by a Soviet assassin.
