Early in Saturday’s final day of the NFL Draft, Clayton Tune’s phone finally rang. It was the Arizona Cardinals front office calling to inform Tune that he had been taken in the fifth round.
Despite being the eighth quarterback off the board in this year’s draft, Tune will arrive in the desert with lots of confidence. Tune proved that as a four-year starter for the Cougars, taking over the starting job for the final seven games of the 2019 season to eventually become one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in school history.
Throughout his career, Tune also showed the ability to run, leading the Cougars with 544 yards and five touchdowns last season. At the NFL combine, Tune was clocked at 4.64 seconds in the 40-yard dash
