on Saturday, coach Dana Holgorsen said the Cougars still have “a lot of work” to do before they join the Big 12 in 2023.
“It’s what the future is going to be. We have a lot, a lot, a lot of work to do as a program to where we are going to be able to handle this every week.” On Saturday, the Cougars flipped the script, albeit briefly, with a 14-0 first-quarter lead. Kansas responded with 28 consecutive points, scoring six touchdowns and a pair of field goals on its final nine possessions.
For the rest of the first half, the Cougars resorted back to old habits. They couldn’t sustain drives. Three possessions ended with punts and another with a turnover.
