Kaitlyn Chen, the former Ivy League Player of the Year who averaged 15.8 points and 4.9 assists for Princeton last season, has committed to UConn as a transfer.
Chen spent the past three seasons playing under former UConn player Carla Berube, earning first team all-Ivy honors in 2023 and 2024. The senior, whose freshman season in 2020-21 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was unable to use her final year of eligibility at Princeton, as Ivy League rules stipulate graduate students cannot participate in athletics.The 5-foot-9 guard from San Marino, California, averaged 15.8 points, 4.9 assists and 1.
Chen helped the Tigers to three Ivy League tournament championships, earning Most Outstanding Player each time, and three NCAA tournament appearances.
