The U.S. economy offers something for everyone richardbeales1
U.S. gross domestic product increased at a 2.6 percent annualized rate in the fourth quarter after expanding at a 3.4 percent pace in the July-September period, the Bureau of Economic Analysis said on Feb. 28.The economy grew 2.9 percent in 2018 as a whole, powered by a corporate tax cut and increased government spending, the fastest pace of expansion since 2015 and better than the 2.2 percent logged in 2017.
Based on officials’ initial calculation, a combination of the usual “advance” and “second” estimates that were disrupted by the partial government shutdown that ended in late January, 2018 growth fell just shy of the 3 percent annual target set by President Donald Trump’s administration.
