Typhoon Egay (international name: Doksuri) is slowly moving away from Dalupiri Island, Cagayan, with Signal No. 4 up in some areas of Cagayan and Ilocos Norte, the state weather bureau says.

According to PAGASA, “violent, life-threatening conditions are expected to continue over Babuyan Islands, northwestern portion of mainland Cagayan, and northern portions of Apayao and Ilocos Norte in the next six hours.”The center of the typhoon was last spotted 70 kilometers northwest of Calayan, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour near the center.
NDRRMC spokesperson Edgar Posadas told CNN Philippines that authorities evacuated early on around 1,070 people in four regions.Egay made two landfalls over Cagayan on Wednesday morning. The first was at 3:10 a.m. in the vicinity of Fuga Island in Aparri and the second at 9:30 a.m. over Dalupiri Island.
But Signal No. 3 remains hoisted over Batanes, northern and central portions of Cagayan, the rest of Ilocos Norte, Apayao, northern portion of Abra, and northern portion of Ilocos Sur.
