Tyler Perry compared the abuse his mother endured from his father to the treatment Meghan Markle received from the royal family, revealing just how afraid the Duchess of Sussex sounded when she reached out for his help in 2020.
“I could hear the fear [in her voice]. It was palpable. I mean, I could hear it,” Perry revealed in the final episode of the Sussexes’ Netflix docuseries, which aired Thursday.Perry — who has spoken about hisin the past — explained, “I saw my mother be abused for years; I knew the symptoms. I knew what it was like.”

We’re not gonna leave you security. We’re gonna do all those things to make you comply and come back,’” he said.
