Two Illinois EMTs have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of man who was strapped face-down to a stretcher, and died from 'compressional and positional asphyxia,” according to a coroner.
Moore was pronounced dead at 3:14 a.m. after being transported to a local hospital.
The officers were invited into the residence and within minutes of encountering Moore, radioed for an ambulance, Scarlette said. Scarlette said EMTs told Moore that if he wanted to go to the hospital, he would have to walk to the stretcher, which was outside the home. Scarlette said the three officers waited until Moore was loaded into the ambulance before clearing the scene.
