Officials of the Utah Department of Transportation reported that this crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 18 roughly 16 miles north of Tremonton. Utah Highway Patrol troopers initially reported that three people were hospitalized, but later stated two people were transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
They said a total of four crashes happened. One person was struck outside of their vehicle after the initial crash between a car and a semi truck.As of 1 p.m., troopers said that traffic was getting through the area but was slowly being diverted in one direction. Officials said that weather was a major contributing factor in this crash and noted that there have been several other traffic incidents in the area throughout the day.Editor's note: Authorities initially said that one person was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from their vehicle. They have since provided a correction to the information.
